Spring is approaching and so are construction projects. Will the mind think about quick fix resolution (using asphalt) or will it awaken to efficiently integrating with the environment (using permeable recycled grid-pavers)? Let’s hope that this year be proud to demonstrate a major shift in the way our Landscape Architects and Civil Designers see and spec-in the benefits of new environmental products. ” I’m not that rich to buy cheap things”: a Croatian tale.
Vision Statement
At Green Way Pavements, our focus serves to enhance the momentum of “Going Green” with new environmental products. We firmly stand behind our EcoRaster Line of Products. Our role accentuates that GWP can help shift many out-dated mind-sets that comfort and secure habits dominate change and new horizons. The goals we are putting in place center around three categories: education, product integrity and salesmanship. As the naiveté surrounding the product eventually loosens via educating buyers and designers, the benefits and myriad applications offered by the product will enable the passionate sales representative to fulfill the buyers’ need. We see the expansion of the GWP in North America to be an exciting venture of change and optimism. We steadfastly face our challenges and will find the time to enjoy the rewards of good, honest hard work.
Growing Market Share
The “Green Movement” is in, especially for environmental and efficiency demands. People are into practical cost reduction and desire less maintenance costs. The introduction to ECORASTER® recycled pavers will undoubtedly begin to flourish. As more marketing and consumer networking becomes common, retails sales should merit positive growth over the next decade. As far as the consumer is concerned, the United States lags 20 years behind Europe and China who have made recycled pavers a multi-billion dollar a year business. Just recently, Americans are waking up to this greener and more natural methodology of pavement construction.
Goals
Our primary goals are: to develop a sales team for regional expansion, to manage and educate our customers about permeability and sustaining a healthy environment, and to sustain high standards of business integrity so that we can achieve a flourishing business with grateful employees and satisfied customers. Our main objectives are: to get our permeable products to the market, to encourage the property owners, landscaping and government agencies to consider specifying our product into their design criteria and finally, to reach out to the public to use permeable products on their property including driveways, parking lots, access roads, and storm water and erosion control applications.
Product summary
The Green Building Council adopted industry standards and a scoring system in Year 2000 that has resulted in acceleration in the design and construction of “Green” buildings and surroundings. Their Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program (LEED) has become a benchmark for architects and construction companies seeking the highly sought-after silver, gold and platinum ratings verifying the “greenness” of their projects. ECORASTER® recycled plastic pavers serve as an excellent soil stabilization system, which is a LEED point-eligible paver that can make any building’s surroundings “green” by providing drainage, paths, walkways, and trails that grow grass and percolate up to ten inches of rainfall per hour instead of creating a solid watershed that comes with the use of solid paving materials such as asphalt or concrete. Now architects and engineers, planners and developers are thinking “Green”; designing and building eco-friendly, energy-efficient, high-performing, sustainable, and water conserving buildings and surroundings with features that promote natural over chemical, recycled over new, and renewable over expendable. While the initial cost to “go green” may be a little bit higher than using more conventional building methods and materials, the payback in energy efficiency, water conservation, and even worker productivity easily exceeds those initial costs.
